Bell Labs Prize
Alcatel-Lucent, institutional participant of Fondazione Politecnico, launches the Bell Labs Prize: a competition for innovators around the globe that seeks to recognize proposals that ‘change the game’ in the field of information and communications technologies by a factor of 10, and provides selected innovators the unique opportunity to collaborate with Bell Labs researchers to help realize their vision.
Bell Labs will offer a U.S. $100,000 donation to the accredited university or institution of higher learning in which the overall winner of the Bell Labs Prize is enrolled at the time of their application. The donation will be directed to a selected professor of the university or institution whose areas of research and study are foundational to the subject matter of the winning application.
The competition opens on May 20th2014 and has two stages; in the first stage, up to 50 proposals will be selected to be paired with Bell Labs researchers, to help expand upon the idea and make it real. In the second stage, 10 finalists will be selected to compete for the 3 prizes at an event scheduled on December 15th 2014, in front of a panel of renowned experts and industry leaders.
The participants can submit your proposal by July 15th 2014.
Bell Labs will be awarding a 1st prize of $100k, 2nd Prize of $50k and 3rd prize of $25k. All three winners will also be considered for the unique opportunity to work within the world-renowned Bell Labs to further explore their ideas, following the end of the competition.
