"Openagri". An innovative agricultural center worth 6 million Euros
Milan, October 12, 2016 - The City of Milan, along with Fondazione Politecnico di Milano, the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture of Milan, Fondazione Parco Tecnologico Padano and 12 partners, has won the "Urban Innovative Actions notice", funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). Managed by the DG Regio, the call addresses urban issues destined to become of great importance for the EU. The heart of the project is the redevelopment of Cascina Nosedo. The rural area will become the new center for open innovation (Open Innovation Hub). Acquaponic crops; new models for last mile logistics; involvement of SMEs and start-ups in the management of the agrifood chain; innovative productions and food consumptions. These are the add-ons that led Milan to succeed and compete with over 370 project proposals.
