ERMES - Embedded Resonant and ModulablE Self-Tuning Laser Cavity for Next Generation
The ERMES- Embedded Resonant and ModulablE Self-Tuning Laser Cavity for Next Generation was dedicated to a new approach to network transmitters, using an insignificant part of the network to implement a modulable self-tuning laser cavity. ERMES began implementing an embedded self-tuning modulable laser cavity, i.e. an alternative solution to the current approaches in terms of performance and cost reduction, with the objective of arriving to field demonstrations of WDM-PON solution with a transmission capacity of 10 Gb/s. The project improved access to networks, remarkably increasing band, with results immediately applicable in an industrial setting.

STATUS OF THE PROJECT: COMPLETED The project began in September 2011 and closed in 2014.
