MANOEUVRES - Manoeuvring Noise Evaluation Using Validated Rotor State Estimation Systems
MANOEUVRES- Manoeuvring Noise Evaluation Using Validated Rotor State Estimation Systems is a project funded by the European Commission - within the purview of the Seventh framework programme, Joint Technology Initiatives, Clean Sky – the objective of which is to develop innovative applications that allow noise to be minimized during the approach and departure of helicopters. In particular, a system of sensors positioned on the helicopter blades was designed and developed; it was tested to evaluate capabilities in view of applications and uses on helicopters in production.
The Politecnico di Milano University coordinates the project involving three departments - Aerospace Sciences and Technologies, Mechanics and Electronics, Information and Bioengineering – and Fondazione Politecnico. The other project partners are the Università degli Studi Roma Tre and two SMEs: Vicoter, specialized in mechanical design and Logic, specialized in the design, implementation, and testing of certified aeronautics software and hardware, including helicopter systems. The project, which started in October 2013, ends in 2016.
