MIRACLE - Multi-level Alignment of Regional Approaches to Critical Infrastructure Resilience by Learning from Experience
According to European law, a "critical infrastructure" is an element or a system that is essential for maintaining vital functions of society, such as health, safety, economic and social well-being. Competencies in protecting critical infrastructures and methods to implement protective actions are fragmented and not-standardized among the Member States and regions of the European Community. The meaning of “Region” itself, understood as an area of influence or of involvement of an infrastructure, is not standardized. MIRACLE was based on the study of the best practices in protecting critical infrastructures on a European and extra-European level. It developed and produced guidelines for the implementation of protective actions.
