MODAClouds - MOdel-Driven Approach for design and execution of applications on multiple Clouds
MODAClouds originated from the collaboration between ICT businesses and research institutions from all over Europe to develop an in-house “multicloud” system. The project provided development tools capable of creating high-quality cloud computing software applications independently from the suppliers. The technology allows businesses to select the most convenient cloud, to migrate from one service to another, and to operate their applications on more than one infrastructures with numerous benefits, such as: rendering security or critical systems that can never go out of service highly reliable; allowing SMEs to manage any work peaks on the most convenient cloud and start ups to start-up their businesses to the lowest entry costs.
Partners: Electronics, Information and Bioengineering Department of the Politecnico di Milano University, with the collaboration of the Fondazione Politecnico, Stiftelsen Sintefinstitutul E-Austria Timisoara, Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine, Softeam, Siemens, Boc Information Systems Gmbh, Flexiant Limited, Atos Spain, and Ca Technologies Development Spain. MODAClouds is funded by the European Commission within the purview of the Seventh framework programme – ICT.
STATUS OF THE PROJECT: COMPLETED The project began in 2012 and ended in 2015.
