SO SMART - Socially Sustainable Manufacturing for the Factories of the Future
The objective of the SO SMART- Socially Sustainable Manufacturing for the Factories of the Future project was to analyze and develop the concept of social sustainability, which will characterize the “factories of the future” in Europe, in order to present a model of analysis and guidelines to correctly implement a "factory system" that is socially sustainable and advantageous from an economic perspective. The project aimed to create supporting actions oriented towards attaining the social well-being of employees and to the creation of a stimulating environment, noting how these actions impact the company's economic prospects and its objective to create value. The project’s partners are: Politecnico di Milano University, Fondazione Politecnico di Milano, University of Chalmers, University of Patrasso, Festo, University of Tampere, Deep White. The project was funded by the European Commission within the scope of the Seventh framework programme. SO SMART began in September 2013 and ended in February 2015.
