Community empowerment for efficient production, use and access of renewable and sustainable energy in rural aeras in Malawi
The objective of the project Community empowerment for efficient production, use and access of renewable and sustainable energy in rural areas in Malawi, conducted by the Politecnico di Milano University in collaboration with the Fondazione, is that of supporting the valuation of projects managed by Italian non-governmental organizations in Malawi, contributing to the improvement of access to renewable energy sources for the country's rural communities and to a better quality for life of the population. In particular, the project's purpose is to increase access to renewable energy sources available at the local level and to promote the production, transformation, and productive use, with particular attention to public structures, communities, and families that inhabit areas affected by the project.
The project activity is organized in three phases: assessment and study of indicators (performance measurement and project impact); ecological and environmental study on the increase to energy access; financial and feasibility study to quantitatively and qualitatively evaluate the replicability of the project results and the long-term impact over the entire national territory. The project is funded by the European Commission.
