ENERG-IT: Models and Actions for Reducing IT Energy Consumption - Focus Group on Green IT and Green e-Competences 11/12/2009
Politecnico di Milano, Aula Magna, P.zza L. Da Vinci 32 - Milano, Italy
The workshop aims at presenting the intermediate results of Energ-IT project, which will finish in July 2010. It will be a way for gathering feedbacks on what we have done and what we could do in the remaining months of the project. And, above all, for stimulating the discussion on the theme of Green IT. The workshop, and the project, will focus on two main complementary topics: the development of a methodology and a tool to design and manage energy-efficient data center; identify the competences, curricula and learning paths needed to manage a green data center in accordance with the European Commission, and to develop Green IT strategies for the 21st century.
Project's partners are: Fondazione Politecnico di Milano, Dipartimento di Elettronica e Informazione del Politecnico di Milano, Beta 80 Group, Enter, and Neptuny. The workshop is organised in cooperation with Antek, IBM, IDC, and MOX. Two officers of the European Commission, Pierre Chastanet and André Richier, are present. ENERG-IT is a project financed by Regione Lombardia.
