The Politecnico contributes to research in the sector of aeronautics (helicopters in particular) and space, with an intense experimentation programme as well as with specific research projects.

It offers a wide-ranging, well-structured and interconnected base of laboratories that have the capacity to work with the aerospace industry and which cover several sectors: structural tests, materials, metallurgy, and fluidodynamics.

Most of these report to the Faculty of Aerospace Engineering, but many others belong to contiguous and complementary areas, all contributing to the completeness and integration of the services offered.
