eCCO-Eucip Plus Print version

This project led to the development of a software tool for assessing ICT skills based on a semantic model in line with European thinking on areas of competency.

EUCIP is a skills standard for ICT professionals, developed with the assistance of the European Community, by the various associations of IT professionals represented by CEPIS (Council of European Professional Informatics Societies) and it is increasingly recognised in Italy, at both institutional and enterprise level.

EUCIP defines 21 professional profiles in relation to roles that are predominantly present in Europe (e.g. Software Developer, Database Manager, etc.). For each professional profile, the eCCO-Eucip tool identifies the skills and expertise necessary to possess it, in terms of elective categories and in terms of level of possession of the skills and expertise in question.

eCCO-Eucip can also assess the "gap" between the skills and expertise possessed by an individual and those required for each EUCIP professional profile. The resulting skills and expertise can be compared:  both with the professional profiles defined by the EUCIP standard itself, and with other profiles of skills and expertise defined as 'ideal' for a determined organisational context.

eCCO-Eucip Plus is supported by AICA, promoted by Confindustria Servizi Innovativi e Tecnologici, and developed in association with the Faculty of Electronics and Information.
