IEEE PES PowerTech Conference 2019 was held at Politecnico di Milano from 23 to 27 June 2019 and was organised by the University together with IEEE Power & Energy Society (PES), in collaboration with Fondazione Politecnico di Milano. The conference’s key theme was the challenge of today and tomorrow arising from the ongoing energy transition. It covered multi-disciplinary topics, ranging from the control and operation of the electric network to data management and infrastructure safety, with a special focus on the integration of renewables and their impact on energy production, to the environment and the mobility of the future, while outlining and presenting new strategic guidelines for innovation in the world of energy.

Over 800 participants from more than 60 countries operating in various industrial sectors, research centres and universities, converged on Politecnico di Milano to present their work and strengthen their international collaboration. PowerTech 2019 attracted this number of attendees to the IEEE PES flagship conference on electrical energy and power systems.
