The event

SOMNUS – Sleep system On the body to Monitor sleep Non invasively through Underwear with Sensors – is a system designed to develop new concept wearable devices that monitor the wearer’s sleep patterns. Hi-tech applied to underwear and nightwear has resulted in practical and comfortable garments with wearable sensors to monitor sleep continuously, accurately and non-invasively, bringing together technology, fashion and design. The project was financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and, at its completion, the results were presented at an event at Politecnico di Milano, as part of Milano Fall Design Week 2019.

Four companies worked together on SOMNUS: Comftech of Monza (lead partner), Genesi of Castel Goffredo, Sonnomedica of Milan and Tecnofilati of Medolago, plus a research body Politecnico di Milano, with the support of Fondazione Politecnico di Milano. SOMNUS is an initiative financed through the European Regional Development Fund within the Regional Operational Programme POR ERDF 2014-2020 for Regione Lombardia.
