Since 2016, the lighthouse cities of Lisbon, London and Milan have implemented several measures geared for smart cities as part of the Sharing Cities project. On the strength of this information and its technical experience, Sharing Cities is holding a new series of webinars to explore these measures. The topics include digital social markets, e-bikes, building retrofitting, sustainable energy management, smart lamp posts, electric mobility and an urban sharing platform. Each event will present the implementation of a smart city solution through two case studies from the lighthouse cities. After the presentations, all participants are invited to take part in the discussion, ask questions and share their own stories. Every measure developed within Smart Cities is covered in a smart booklet and a playbook containing all the details, so that it can be replicated in other cities.

The seventh webinar in the cycle introduced the Urban Sharing Platform (USP), a data platform that gathers and elaborates raw data from sources like smart lampposts, smart energy meters and mobility sharing services, producing intelligent data that can generate new insights and information for use in towns and cities. The USP can help to build a smart city, digitally integrating a wide range of information and communication technologies within urban areas.
