Industry 4.0

The initiative

A person’s professional growth starts at university if not earlier. Testing yourself and learning more about market trends helps you gain new skills.

MindSphere World, together with Politecnico di Milano Career Services, Laboratory 4.0 – Department of Management Engineering at Politecnico di Milano and Fondazione Politecnico di Milano, is presenting a student contest where contestants work in teams on an innovative project to develop an Industry 4.0 application using  MindSphere, a leading industrial IoT and cloud as-a-service solution.

The competition is open to all students studying at Politecnico di Milano and, apart from competing for one of the highly desirable prizes on offer, they will gain a first-hand experience of professional challenges. Their experience will bring them closer to companies at the sharp end of digital transformation when dealing with trends in innovation in the context of Industry 4.0. Contestants are expected to produce an Industry 4.0 cloud solution, which must be implemented on the Siemens MindSphere platform.

The role of the Foundation

Fondazione Politecnico di Milano is backing the initiative.

Technical details

Student teams competing against each other will present their project to a panel of specialists. The teams will be shadowed and guided by experts from the teaching faculty at Politecnico di Milano and experienced members of MindSphere World who belong to its associated companies.
