Digital Health Care: Foundation among organisations helping health care structures with tomorrow’s ICT systems

Fondazione Politecnico di Milano is one of the organisations approved to help Italy’s public health care facilities during the evolution of clinical ICT systems (electronic medical records, telemedicine, digital medicine, diagnostic imaging). When carrying out this work, the Foundation will also tap into the skills and experience at Politecnico di Milano.

Consip – Italy’s central procurement body for the public sector – has completed the allocation of the first tender on Digital Health Care specifically for clinical ICT systems, a strategic tender in its new “Three-Year Plan for ICT in Public Administration 2020-2022”, set out by AgID (the Agency for a Digital Italy) and the Ministry for Innovation in Technology and Digital Transition.

In detail, tender Batches 5 (Northern Italy – 36 million euros) and 6 (Central-Southern Italy – 64 million euros) for support services (strategic support, digitisation processes, assistance in technological innovation, governance) have been awarded to a temporary grouping of companies, composed of KPMG Advisory, McKinsey & Company, EY Advisory, P.A. Advice and Fondazione Politecnico di Milano.

Consip’s initiatives in digital health care mean that facilities belonging to Italy’s national health service can access application and support services for digital transformation to public health care, in coherence with Mission 6 of Italy’s National Plan for Recovery and Resilience, concerning “Health Care”.
