Food, sustainability and discovering the local area: Sondrio will tempt your taste buds
Sondrio “will tempt your taste buds” with its weekend “walks”, where you can take off in total freedom or join a rather “special” guide, it all depends on the walk you choose.
On the 9th and 10th April 2022, Valtellina is throwing its doors wide open to visitors and tourists. You can try out one or more of a series of unique walks and, along the way, you can enjoy local foods and wines, while exploring the sights of Sondrio’s town centre and the surrounding area.
With or without a guide, you can walk from one delicious tasting to the next, and that’s not all… You could ride a “selfie-bike” up to the Big Bench and take in the superb panoramic view, just a short jaunt from the heart of Sondrio. Or you could go on a wine tour by e-bike through the terraced vineyards encircling the town, or drive an e-car “to get anywhere without effort but still staying green”. Sondrio’s sustainable mobility services are provided through the Interreg V-A Italy-Switzerland LIVELINESS Co-operation Programme, a living laboratory for sustainable, inclusive cross-border mobility, which involves the town of Sondrio, the Valmalenco Mountain Community, Anci Lombardia, E-VAI, Politecnico di Milano, Fondazione Politecnico di Milano, Repower AG and the Bernina Region local authority.
