Startcup Lombardia has reached its 20-year milestone. This competition is organised by the universities and university incubators of Lombardy; it is promoted by the Regional Council of Lombardy, Directorate for Economic Development, councillor Guido Guidesi, and coordinated by PoliHub – Innovation Park & Startup Accelerator of Politecnico di Milano.

Startcup Lombardia was established in 2003 at the initiative of Politecnico di Milano, and this year is celebrating its 20th anniversary. Since 2016, with the support of the Regional Council of Lombardy (Regione Lombardia), the competition has awarded grants to the value of 600,000 euros and contributed towards founding 31 companies, which have gathered over 3 million euros in cumulative investment.

Again in 2022, the Regional Council of Lombardy is pledging its support to the competition, awarding a total of 150,000 euros to the best projects in four categories: ICT & Services, Industrial Technologies, Life Science & MedTech and CleanTech & Energy. The four winning projects, one in each category, will each receive 25,000 euros, and other prizes are also awarded.
