The initiative

Iper La Grande I and Fondazione Politecnico di Milano are running a competition for ideas to choose the name and visual identity for a new lager about to be launched on the market.
For nearly 50 years, “Iper La Grande I” has been championing the value of quality by offering products with a genuine taste at the right price.

The project’s objectives and the topic of this competition: The purpose of the competition is to come up with a name and a visual identity (label and graphics) for this lager. Project and technical skills are not required in the first phase, that of naming the lager.

The second phase to create a visual identity demands more specific output, and participants will have to prepare professional-level graphics. This means that budding creatives can take part in one or both phases, as each has its own selection process and awards its own prizes.

Who can take part?
The competition is open to all students studying at Politecnico di Milano for an undergraduate or Master’s degree, or are on a postgraduate course.
Project and technical skills are not required in the first phase of naming the lager.

PROGRAMME

NAMING THE PRODUCT – PHASE 1
The name chosen for the new larger must be an original, personal idea and respect the brief.

Participants are asked to upload the name they have thought up, and can give a descriptive or contextual slogan/catchphrase that embodies the product, plus a brief description to explain their proposal (maximum 500 keystrokes).

GRAPHIC PROPOSAL –  PHASE 2
Participants must deliver a graphic output of suitable visual quality in a pdf vector file to enable its production; the file must contain the following tables:

A text description of the concept and a project mood board: A brief 500-keystroke description of the chromatic and stylistic ideas for the project featured on the mood board.

Graphic project for the label: Participants are asked to design a label in a vector file, giving its technical and applicative characteristics in a subsequent document.

Mock-up renderings:  2D or 3D renderings of the visual identity on the bottle and possible secondary packaging if envisaged.

Phase 1 registration: from 31 May to 6 June, 23:50 CET.

Phase 1 submission: from 31 May to 9 June, 23:50 CET (people registered will receive the link for submitting their proposal)
